The Board of Governors files are comprised of meeting notes from the Natural History Museum Board of Governors, Board of Trustees, and Committee meetings as well as meeting notes from the Museum Foundation and the Museum Associates meetings, all spanning from 1910-2014. The collection also includes 3 reels of microfilm containing digitized images of meeting notes from 1910-1979.

The Charles F. Gehring Collection documents the activities of Acting Director Charles F. Gehring from 1946-1970 and is comprised primarily of correspondence, budget records, newspaper clippings, and press releases and includes correspondence regarding Hancock Park, exhibitions development, quarterly reports, and capital building projects.
The Giles W. Mead collection documents the activities of Museum Director Giles W. Mead (1928-2003) from 1970-1978 and is comprised primarily of correspondence, budget records, photographs, and press releases and incldues correspondence regarding LACMA, China Lake excavations, exhibitions development, California state fossil selection, Hancock Park and La Brea museum planning, Old Woman Meteorite court proceedings, Proposition 13 (Jarvis-Gann Initiative), and Museum thefts.
The Gurdon Woods collection documents the activities of Director of the Otis Art Institute and Deputy Director of the Los ANgeles County Natural History Museum Gurdon Woods from 1977-1980 and is comprised primarily of correspondence, meeting notes, grant proposals, and loan agreements and incldues correspondence regarding exhibitions development, collections policy, Museum library collections, art sales, and transfer of Hancock Park collections.
